Please don't drink and drive

Someone should have told her that he was not coming home
For an accident that happened
Not to long ago
For someone who was drinking and driving
On the same rode
Going 100 miles per hour
If only he went slow
He was proud not to drink
But sadly he wasn’t coming home
Finding himself around his blood
Trying not to cry
Knowing surly he was going to die
For this man who chose to drink and drive
Who took this incident mans life
Why do people do it
Knowing it ruins lives?
I feel my heart beat slowing down
For I’m so scared
These my final moments
I’m so unprepared
Tell everyone I love them
Tell all your family and friends
Please don’t drink and drive

  • I'm going to remove this poem from the contest. It rhymes in about two places and there are too many typos. I'm sorry if you're only eleven, but I'm not making any special rules for anyone. You may reenter the contest, but you must do it with a different work.

  • a good poem, it is sad that lives are taken in such a way, i am a heavy drinker, but i do not own a car, it would be my demise and possibly another's too, so i walk and take taxis or busses etc. good luck in the contest.
