Our lives stretch across a gulf of ceaseless years,
endless miles,
memories, days,
problems and plans.
I turn away from my task and surroundings
to gaze out the window
at the face not here,
but always here
in my heart.
Breathing in, the features become clearer,
lips brighten into the familiar smile
as I exhale.
I have to smile back.
I know that rascal.
I live with the sound of his song inside me,
roguish laughter,
gentle advice,
concentrated discussion.
We have so much to say to one another.
Even when at rest,
the dialogue continues.
It continues
from its point of origin
centuries ago, the moment we met
before we met.
Always in my thoughts
even after all these years.
Keep me alive in your thoughts, too.
Think of me as when we were together,
when we were joyful,
when I was young,
when you loved me.
Goodnight, Sweetheart.

I think there is alot of sweetness here, that whether you're into this man at any point remains something trite-he's already got your heart and that's all he needs, isnt it?
Thank you.

Thank you for your comment. He does, indeed, have my heart, and he knows that. Whether it means anything to him is a mystery.
Best regards,
Camille
