the wheat is strong
the grape is soft
the blood will flow
the wheat will bow

Quite rich in your expression of the body and blood of Christ. Simple, rich, and deeply spiritual. Well done my friend. I doubt more could be said.
Well done. ~Pamela

And the chaff will be separated . . . eventually in the grand scheme of things. It would seem there is more and more chaff in the world . . . or maybe I just notice it more. The wine will go bitter and not taste so sweet . . . and the blood is flowing even as we speak. Still the world dozes.
Excellent.

Just four lines, sixteen words... yet the more I thought about it, the more ideas that came to mind.
I imagined an invading army laying waste to a fertile valley.
Then I saw the wheat and grapes to be metaphors for man and woman.
Poetry should make us use our imagination and our wonderful minds.
Kind regards, Peter

I know there is deep revelation in these words. Grapes represent many things. Blood, wine, and breasts in The Song of Solomen.
If I spelled him right... Wheat represents bread, life. I could go on and on, yet you have a revelation here that I have yet to find. When I do I know I will be pleasently surprised. Your writes are always a pleasure to read pretty poetess.
I wish you luck in the contest.
Much love,
Judy

I love the connection I can take from grapes that bleed. I suppose every good wine have the blood of some soft grape inside. And I wondered why I get stepped on in life
You always inspire me to write. I am grateful that I found you on AP
