Breathe Deeply

Breathe Deeply — quadwaval rhyme

Great wastes, numbering five, are these:
eight hours of energy,
they burn all you have in just one;
they are not synergy—

Anger destroys all who fuel it,
straight to infinity;
but love heals any and all wounds:
absolute synergy.

Depression weakens with its touch,
leaving only great pain;
while joy and laughter set us free:
life not being in vain.

Grief is normal but cut it short,
or it becomes insane;
instead rejoice for a life gone:
praying not lived in vain.

Hate isn't normal to our heart;
love, its propensity.
So, love your neighbor and yourself:
for all eternity.

Worry is waste only God cures.
Satan's the enemy.
So, breathe deeply and forgive all.
You gain eternity.

Author notes

Life has taught me to breathe deeply and seek only positives when negatives confront me. I don't have to waste my energy on the latter.

      Ah, my precious dear friend. You always lift me up and keep me going forward. I do so hope that what I write for our Lord is universal and leads many to His ways.

      Much love, hugs and prayers, SisBon

  • WONDERFUL!!!!! I loved the message of the poem...the flow of the rhymes...the overall positivity you brought to light. I agree one hundred percent with you wisdom here. I will admit freely that I should take some good advice from this poem and apply it to my own personal life! Thank you so much for the entry!!!

    Wow...bravo! You captured those things that do exhaust us, even our Faith, impressed by how you tell the reader how each one can change, the mindset to have, it's all good and then you can receive the breath we need to take in, the uplift. Excellent. Blessings.

      Thank you, sweetheart! I had a bit of edge with this one, in that one of courses I taught in Texas included what are the 5 greatest expenders of energy, how each affect us, and how to avoid them as much as we can.

      Luv & hugs, MomB
