Mother Africa

Picture from: http://www.themfive.org

From the sways of hips,
Lies jewelry on her children's ears and lips.
Waving symbolic freedom of fist...
She is Africa.

Mother to all known.
Her beauty is well shown.
Yet, she echoes lively songs.
She echoes cries and moans.

Africa;
Within every soul.
Every child sold...
Never getting old
Of Africa.

Listen closely to the rythmatic vibes
Containing spirits of an ancient dynasty;
Ancient tribes.
Though foreign countries have had their tries...
She's never conquered,
She never dies.
I love you mother Africa.

    POW!!!

    POW, POWER-FULL excellent piece of writing lady, beautiful content and concept.. my heads bows down..

  • Damn you have some serious writing skills! People don't often realize the strength of Africa, you have captured it well here. The only country which has truly stayed true to itself. I love this and again I would change absolutely nothing at all. I am not much for polished poetry anyway, I feel it loses it's strength and sometimes even it's meaning. Superb Write!

      Thank you!

      Yeah, you can leave, come back, and its still the same. I got to visit Ghana both city and rual areas (Kumasi & Accra). Very different. I know one thing, visiting there opened my eyes and cherish things that Americans dont realize is a blessing. Somone had to go and get water from a well (1mile away) for me to take a bath. It wasnt even really a bath. I had to stand over a bucket in a tub to wash myself (cold water by the way) and save some incase they decided to ravish the water & electric the next day. Ghana was low on water etc. The high class people there...wow! I mean, they dont have the average loans, payday loans etc. Everything they have is paid for. So if you see someone in a Mercedes (most of the cars there are foriegn) ...just know its paid in full.

      • Yeah we americans are a little too comfortable on our @sses lol. I would love to visit there someday...

    • awesome picture btw!
