She was such a lovely girl. I mean undoubtedly gorgeous. Her skin so thin and fair and her hair loosely flowed in the salt flavored breeze. Her cheeks were dry, but her breathing was stressed and uneven.
The cool ocean brushed upon her bare feet as she stepped forward. The dim sunlight flickered across the perspiration on her brow as her neck forced itself to twist towards her father. His eyes were cold as he waited dead in his steps. The wind seemed not to affect him as his arm slowly reached out towards the young girl.
Her stomach turned and flipped as her gaze met his. The water was now at her knees and the waves were becoming more ferocious every second. His expression lay emotionless.
Her lungs filled with oxygen one last time as she closed her eyes. Her feet began to push out to the ocean. His hand fell. This was freedom. Within these waters was the sanctuary from all the asphyxiated love her family fed her. This was a place of cleansing of the disease raised and multiplied by them.
This was the cure.
