I glance over at our kitchen table
Remember when we used to paint there??
How we’d lay out newspaper and still get stains
Remember when I broke that chair??
I move on to the living room
Remember all the piano lessons we had??
Callie and I always fighting over whose turn it was
Remember how I got so frustrated, so mad??
I look up our stairs and find that closet
Remember how I used to drag out the panty hose??
I’d tie them off up high on my bed, then jump
Remember how you’d find me lifted to my toes??
I open the door to my old bedroom
Remember how it used to be striped pink and white??
I loved those walls even after we painted them
Remember how I put up such a fight??
Remember when I was a little kid??
I was always so happy and kind
Remember when it all started falling apart??
When I went completely insane, I lost my mind??
Remember when I stopped smiling??
I was no longer nice, I didn’t care
Remember the way I’d yell and scream??
Until finally I got to where I was completely bare
Remember how I used to give you hugs all the time??
I felt so comforted in your arms
Remember how I used to be a sweet little girl??
And now I try not to raise alarm
I remember how you used to hold me tight
Even when I fought back in tears
I remember that you’ve always been my there
And I regret not telling you “I love you” in years

This was a wonderful write and if we were to tell our moms that we love them often we would not have to regret that. I don't love my mother I give her the respect due to her but love is not the possibilities. Not going into why here. Anyway I like your poem it was well done thank you for sharing.

Thank you.
I can't imagine not loving my mother. Really not loving her. I'm a kid, so it comes and goes, but over all she's the one I know I can always count on and she's always been there for me. I love her for it.
I'm glad you like it.
