Dreams and wishes made and lost,
Friendships made and broken at cost,
A million hopes that slowly die,
A life with a smile that passes by.

My Cry for help was loud and clear,
I needed them but they weren't near,
You came along and took my hand,
Intentions mislaid, feelings banned.

Time goes by and something happens,
The reason for relations slowly flattens,
My guidance and hope you soon become,
But we must be nothing, must remain numb.

I don't know how you became so much,
A light in a tunnel developed from lust.
Something so dim now shines so bright,
No longer numb but trying with all my might.

You came to me in my darkest time,
When hope was fading and felt like a crime,
I didn't expect this to ever take place,
I knew from the start the things you faced.

Never before has someone so wise,
Cared so much to guide me through the lies,
Still naive with so much more to learn,
You took me in and gave me a direction to turn.

To lose this light that held me upright,
Is proving yet again to take all my might,
To learn to stand alone in the dark again,
Through all my battles its up to me to defend.

I just long that we could have all we wished,
When reality felt like it could be missed,
It feels like hope is now slipping away,
But I will make you proud and not be led astray.

I'll keep this smile you love so much,
I'll hold it here and in you I'll trust,
I'll remember what you taught me everyday,
And I will never forget you in any way.

As much as our dreams were made and could be lost,
Friendships were made and may break at a cost,
But the costs are nothing like the gains,
A star for life, yours I'll remain.

So when I lose hope and let it slip,
When the smile is missing from my lips,
I'll look above and think of you,
Let the memories you gave me guide me through.

I'm honoured to have had our words exchanged,
Even if relationships have changed,
The one person who saw me for who I am,
You've been my angel and saviour since this began.

Even if you say I shouldn't in order to cope,
