A baby.
A perfect little combination of sweetness and innocence.
Chubby little cheeks that field so many kisses,
soft tiny hands that are at once curious and shy.
Inquisitive, gorgeous eyes that drink in their world,
sweet, milk-drenched lips resting on your shoulder.
The softest of sighs accompanies the fluttering of newly-formed lashes.
And when she falls asleep, nothing in the world could resist that sight.
The stomping of angel feet on the hardwood floor,
small, strong fingers clenched on your own.
This baby wants to go, go, go!
And when she finally does, much later in life, may you have the strength to let her.
Her melodious voice echoing around your house
You've waited so long to hear.
With her first word, you'll be enchanted
More so than you already are.
May your life and hers be stuffed with thousands of laughs,
never wanting for a kiss or a hug.
Capture every single second that you can,
and teach her as well as you're able.
Then, when she asks you, "Mommy, where do babies come from?"
You can tell her-
A baby is composed of pure adoration.
