Searching for God

Where were you as I landed so small,
Into my mothers arms, ready to take it all.
All of life’s twists I would learn,
And then to your feet God, I would turn.
But what went wrong in your plans,
To send me into the devils hands.
Giving me a life of torture and pain,
Leaving me alone, going insane.
You left me God, as I went down,
Left me all alone, only showing a frown.
How could you leave me at a time like that?
You left me so afraid, all alone I sat.
I carried on day after day,
Not really knowing my path or my way.
Lost and lonely I wandered through,
Searching, praying that you were true.
True as all the stories said.
Wanting to believe in my heart and my hand,
That you could take all my pain away,
Warm my soul and forever stay.
