Perfect...

Sunlight filtered through the
trees where i sat its pale rays
reflected on pools of water
in the shallow earth left
by the rain.
My earphones blaring music
the words pulsing in my mind,
and the scenery fades like in
a dream just before you wake
yet on reality it still leaves a stain.
"i'm exactly where i supposed to be.."
that brings me back to the meadow
where i sat, yet i hardly heard it...
I look down and see my reflection
in the water... my brown hair
pooled on my shoulders so imperfect
i sigh... I try to forget it...
"this is me"
I take my earphones out of my
ears and lay them at my side,
blushing from the wind that
began to sting my cheeks,
i thought am i really trying
from myself to hide?
Now i look again into
the liquid mirror
left by the storm,
and for a heartbeat
a whisper enters my head
extinguishing all those negative
It was inaudible yet i sensed like
it was written on my heart
and i would not forget it...
every thought that told me
i was imperfect the way i was
was confined in the shadows...
I looked away at the horizon
where trees shifted in the breeze,
silhouettes.. i placed the earphones
back in my ears... I smiled....
"i am glad to be me... because who
said everyone isn't beautiful.. they are"

Leaves begun to dapple the puddle...
and i saw no trace of myself.. On its
clear surface... but there was no need
i new i was beautiful the way i was...
"this  is me"
