Hah! the ideas stemmed form the "Wonder" beginning,
as I sought to combine the mind-flight with the illusion
      created with perspective drawings.

Also a background of creating original Summer Theater
productions (pre-school thru junior high ages) for 15 years
sets my mind stage for what we can create with words
      and illusions.

And I've had a continued angel influence in my work for
a few months now! It all seemed to work together!!

      Thank you, Denise,

Really intriguing. Something is pulling at the mind to open up here. Everything is first a thought. The mind is the creator.
hmm.. 'illusion - contradiction to the eyes' -- what do the body's eyes really see?

Always very worthwhile to read your inspired work. Art, in any form, I believe comes from the soul, being inspired - in spirit.

Just last night on my newly posted piece,
      "Within the Heart of Memory,"
Sudo Nimh was persuing a path
      of seeing with the mind---related
      to your thought here:
"...what do the body's eyes really see?"

Your thoughts always add depth to the
      meaning presented on the page.

    Ponder Perception,
    Creation of the Surreal
    manipulation of lines
to infinity or just off yonder
distance to ponder- My favorite part~ The poem itself captivated me but the pictures kept me hypnotized =)

Ah--I like having the ability to hypnotize!!
The drawings more difficult than the words
in the creation process, but also more satisfying!

  • I love what you did here. The structure... returning in the end to the words that seemed almost like mini-titles, or subtitles, yet not so, because each served also as a point to reflect, especially with the illustration after. I felt like I came full circle with these which was really cool...and then the whole build to ADVENTURE was well done. The drawings are striking and so intriguing to study and decipher. Really nice stuff.

      Smiling happily that you noticed!

Since the drawings are illusions in themselves
I hoped the words would also play a game
of repetition, one of intriguing the reader.

Bit wait, there's more! While each was posted
as a single picee, it was all leading up to the
conclusion. where, with an into and closing
these all make up one composition.

      and interesting observations!!!

  • I really must apologize to you dear but I have just peeked and run from three other of your writes... not intentionally but you see I started at what I believe was probably number one of these and saw the link to the next one and followed it to the next and ended up here and alas there is no more links so this leaves me to the point where I am now apologizing for not reviewing on the others because I was so entralled and just had to go see what the others read and looked like!
( it really isn't my fault you know, you harbor the blame... lol, if you weren't so dang good, I would have probably left some stupid fluff review on the first one and just left your page and never would have ended up here looking the fool... you really should be ashamed of yourself you know... how dare you write with such perfection to make one so curious that they just forget all their manners? Have you no respect? lmbo I will be expecting a written apology from you for this public embarrassment you have caused me, since of course everyone will be reading my apology to you and will now know that I have peeked an run and of course it is after all YOUR fault... lol roflmbo [ I pray you know I am joking with you dear] )

I absolutely loved all of these hun and will now have to go backtracking to give you the applause on the ones that I did not comment on... of course I probably won't leave any redundant comments but I will leave you some applause because they are all worthy of them. They are really addicting and I could have skimmed through page after page of them had there been more of them, thank goodness there were not more or I would have really harmed my reputation since I never just peek and run... lol... now see what you made me do? Geesh, you better get to writing that letter of apology cause my wee itty bitty feewings are huwtin... lol

okay being serious here now... ( trying to once more anyway)

Excellent job on all four of them hun... seriously... wished there were more of them!

Oh, Suzi, you are such a delight!!!!!!

By now you have probably discovered
that this whole series is brought together
      in the piece titled "Perspective."
The first three came to life, one at a time,
as the concept grew in my mind!!

      And no apologies, but pride,
      to have piqued your interest
and to have drawn you along
      in the presentation.
      Hurrah for minds that
want to play, want to see,
      want to unravel the clues!!!

      Hurrah for Suzi!!!

A mind in touch with imagination has no boundaries. I probably spend more time in mine than I should...lol.

For some reason now I'm thinking of more of hypnotists than magicians and their ability to plant suggestions in the mind which carry through as reality.

      Part of the magician's repertoire--
      the art of hypnotism.

      So easily captured by illusion,
by words--our mind takes it all in,
      believes what it's shown.

      The success of hypnotism
      determined by the willingness
      of the subject!

      Somehow--"one born every minute"
      dashes thru my brain!!

I was acquainted with a hypnotist once and he shared how they can easily tell those who can be easily hypnotized and those who cannot by simple eye movement. Quite fascinating.

Yes, one is born every minute and unfortunately there are many more born who will exploit them.

          I think---the more imaginative---the more susceptible--
more open to suggestion, because of easily picturing
          the thought or action suggested!!!

But I would fight to the death the implanted suggestion
of no longer ingesting Ghirardelli 60% cocoa daaaaarrrk
          chocolate --smooth little pillows--chips.

I would imagine it has something to do with left/right brain dominance.

No post hypnotic suggestions are allowed regarding chocolate. I just declared that a law. lol

European dark chocolate is my favorite. Whenever my brothers hop the pond on business they know they best bring some for their favorite sister

  • Superwoman drawings ...

    Dramatization …

Wonder - - the layers of our mind
    And magnification of thoughts sublime
    Lines that travel space beyond
And ponder time, where time just yawns
Those doors a-plenty down halls unknown
    First-class adventure to seek alone
Then share the wealth of worthy whim
With words that light the dark of dim …

that tease the eye, draw in the mind to consider!!

    Surely to Ponder Deeply

How to soar deep within by the mind to find the light that burns to dramatize the actors of reality, it's here. Wonder at reality of words here inflamed, yet I find no contradiction; but illusion aplenty. Distance seems not so far when perception is left to maniplation yet to ponder the lines all to real. In adventure will I seek to know each door the writer opens for me to surmise. Do angels tread ahead of where this good poet wants lead? Seems so. Reviewer: Jack

Ah, Jack, the joy and the fun
      of placing words and drawings
      for others to contemplate
      is the variety of situations
      each person sees---or imagines!

      Yes, illusion predominates here!

Ah, yes, for imagination fuels life---
and smart are we who enjoy
      utilizing it to the fullest
      degree we can!

      Eventually, all these elements
      will fuse together in one
piece (You know I can not
      stop with one!). May have
      to reconsider the overall
      name!!

Those who soar within the mind are the ones who failed at doing it in actuality. You knew I'd say something cynical didn't you.

The lead image is quiet intriguing. I like just looking at it with all the small details and trying to match it to the poem's intent. The second of the two, that great with the small opening to the stars and the sky. The first is better at seeing certain images so I really use both of them.

So what is Sudo Nimh saying? She has bees in her bonnet? I have bats in my belfry! Your turn.

My turn: I have hornets in my overhang.
Attempted to co-exist, for the exterminator
company said their treatment would make
the hornets or wasps very angry and to not
use the doorways they had settled over!
Hah! Not agile enough to crawl out a window
      I declined their service.

Then a small nest appeared on the brick
right next to the door frame of the
kitchen door to the patio. Aaaaaaggghh!
But my savior, my buddy, arrived in the
dark of night and whacked it off with a
      stick.

Any wonder I water my patio garden at
night when all those buzzers are sleeping.
And my HIllary baseball cap keeps the
      fluttery moths off my head!!

There, I've confessed---the artist is afraid
of all things flying, crawling, creeping!!!!!

As to your first statement---yes, you got it--
      get sick even on a merry-go-round---and a
ferris wheel---look out below!!! So mind
      flight is a happy alternative...

oh wow..most certainly wow..not only for the beautiful stanzas which lead the mind into the images, but for the compositions of both poetry and scenes..there is so much inside!..these towers of geometric design not only bring the mind to portals through the etheric realms, but also cause me to think of great apiaries full of bees..a creature which i am fairly certain knows all the answers to the questions..and the final image..there is mor there i think than i can fully grasp..just wonderful, aes..truly. ---{--@
