"Different"

I see how you treat others
the same way you treat me too
but they dont have but one friend
i at least have a few

Nobody likes them
they feel they dont belong
yet i do nothing
though i knew all along

why do you continue to tease
why do you continue to laugh
why dont you just stop
and unblock their only path

they just want to get away
they just want to be free
want to have the wonders of friendship
and the beautiful gift to see

Just because you dont like them
doesnt mean they arent great friends
just because theyre different
doesnt mean they wont take offense

did you ever give them the chance
to let them have a life
if you didnt act this way
they might not be using a knife

Did you ever give them the chance
to have just one smile
to have fun at parties
and it all worth the while

have you ever realized
that different people have feelings too
they dont like being excluded from events
that they have longed for so long to go to

Have you ever realized
that different people dont like being alone
they just want to fit in
to have at least one friend
and not be on their own

have you ever realized
that if you were different or an outcast
you would want at least one friend
who would forever be with you
til the very end
