StormGoddess, For Her Birthday

Where would I begin?

How about in the finest chocolate factory?

Where even the sweetest and smoothest layers-

would not touch how divine she truly is.

Although, we would have fun tasting everything.

How about in the largest art gallery?

Where artists could vie with each other,

on who gets to paint her first-literally.

Although, being fingerpainted might be kind of sensual.

How about in the most upscale bistros?

Where culinary masters, and wine aficionados

do everything to impress her taste buds.

Although, we would be well fed, and walking it off for weeks.

How about upon the sandy beaches?

Where cabana boys, vie to bring us tropical delights,

and fan us while we sip in paradise.

Now there's the ticket.

I think instead, I shall begin,

where the tears end, and we both share

laughter and smiles,

and recall in winsome thoughts-

just how far we have come.

Author notes

I know we haven't spoken in a long while. But then, that only means we have much catching up to do, sweetheart. Happy Birthday, Storm.

This really touched me. I feel honored and loved all at once with these words. Let us let the tears stay away and the laughter and smiles be who we are and what we have become. I know it's possible.

Thank you for a most beautiful piece, I will treasure this always.

this is a bangin' tribute. i think it is extremely creative and i enjoyed every line. great job.

  • You could add the last line "and all the things we've done." But I don't know if it would be an improvement. My favorite upscale bistro is an old filling station converted into a restaurant called "Tina's" She has a sign up that says, "Beware of loose women." Although I don't think Tina is one of them. However I think the StormGoddess might be especially on her birthday. Of course, the only wine aficionados there are a group of old guys whining about government taxes. This is a great poem, don't change a thing!
