Serial spree

My granny is paying a visit to us
she's sweet as sugar and avoids fuss
she cooks and keeps her busy enough
by caring for mum and cleanig tough

But summers are on and days are long
and sitting idle is just so wrong
So what she does is sit and gawk
at idiot box that mocks and talk

The daily soaps are aired all day
with wamps hissing with firey spray
The makers put the things she loves
like marriages and cute love doves

There are howling dads and weeping mums
with greedy brothers and caring pums
there is more bad than there is good
so that one weeps more than he should

She watches them in her free times
and how she whimpers, how she whimes!
she talks as if she's one inside
making marriges happen and subside

She believes all whacky things they show
and murmurs, 'how bad a youth can go'
She makes faces when wamps draw plots
and shouts bad words to all bad lots

She feels bad bout that poor old dad
whose daughter ran away with a guy so bad!
and bout that man whose wife left him
and all sorts of stupid 'relationship' whim

In vain did I try to make her know
that these soaps are but just show!
She held my hand and whisperd in my ear
'you talk like the girl in that primetime sneer'!

'you must learn some manners while there's time
else after marriage, like her, you'll whime'
and then she turned her back on me
Thus continues her serial spree...
