don't dismiss what I've done
the lengths to which I have perished
for your amusement and benefit
count the poems I've written
with fire breathed into them
words smell like cinder
I have moved past expecting
things I'm not sure I want
yet hope and faith and other cliches
are clinging to the silk of the skirt
you once loved
chasing the elusive
may seem so pointless at time
Kierkegaard and Sartre would disapprove
but what does it matter?
Author notes
Combining the everlasting talent of U2 with my sporadic thoughts and flavors of the month.
Kierkegaard and Sartre are existentialist philosophers/writers whose work was basically designed to make you feel that all we do is meaningless.
