Jonathan hadn't planned for this
It was never on his scope
The way the world had changed for him
Ate deep into his hope.
What once had been a doddle
Was now an uphill climb
An open bare-fist knuckle fight
To even get a dime.
Supporters that he once had
Reclined into their shell
The backing that he once received
Just fell and fell and fell.
So what then were the options
What was this man to do
Just disregard all went before
Then start it all anew.
He left the troubled building
Feet treading out new track
No thought to look behind him
No need to er'e look back.
So on to new horizons
Be they fruitful or forlorn
Knew from this moment onward
He had to be reborn.
What did you think

Endings and beginnings are tough. You have described it so well. The despair and also the hope of something new and the way we must re-invent ourselves so often in life. Thanks for the write. I really enjoyed it.
