I sleep as you lie awake
in the dimness of your nights
when you're lost inside your endless mind
as I dream you into mine.
You dream with only clouded eyes
lit by street lamps and stars
while you strain to see beyond your storm
I feel the rain upon my face.
Sitting in ridgid, chain smoke rings
the blue glow of an insomniac TV
reflects against your weary form.
You wage wars with the pain
as I fight with your tears.
I feel you lying close to me,
your body warm and fragrent.
Breath on my neck
and arms intertwined
"In sickness and in health"
I whisper in your restless sleep
where you are lost inside your endless mind
as I dream you into mine.

Wow. I loved this. Powerful and beautiful. Deeply touching.
Is love like poison we gladly take, and coursing through our veins becomes pure and sweet? The poison the only cure.

Stunning, Abbey. Stunning.

It wasn't that lengthy of a comment, but I felt it did you justice. Your words weren't forced, as mine often are. You were speaking from your inner soul, and you gave the reader something to hold onto.

Outstanding
Sometimes just being there for someone is enough but it can be so difficult when the people we love are struggling and we just want to reach out and help them. This must be so difficult for you to deal with. There is so much sadness in this poem but your love for him really shines through. Hopefully he will get well again soon.

Thanks for reading and for your opinions.
There is a bittersweet quality to the situation at hand... through my sadness do I see a clear view of just how strong my love for him is, and the view is beautiful.
Thanks also for your best wishes. I too am hoping/praying daily this storm will pass.
