Hips and a kiss
This is how I will remember her:
Of rose-timber and a vanilla note,
Of boats and waves,
Of craving and longing.
Belonging to me - you weren't mine forever, Darling.
Vanilla in parting - back to the sea.
Author notes
Ok it's 42 or 43 words, I hope that's a non-issue.
The scent of vanilla always reminds me of a girlfriend I had and no matter what, her skin always smelled of vanilla. She lived here in my state - Victoria - for about 6 months and then went back up North to Queensland to her coastal hometown. I haven't really heard from her since.
We used to do a lot of surfing, swimming and just mucking around at the beach so I think of the sea when I think of her as well. So vanilla and the ocean are two intertwined elements for me.
Rose-timber is like rose-wood and was a type of incense that was burning when I met her at a mates place.
Now this is making me miss her
( ah well, c'est la vie.

Excellent writing poet. The scent was really well mingled in this piece.
