The Marriage of Rain and Radiance

Shades of soft grey billowed ‘round and about
Diamond teardrops did happily descend
The congregation in whole soaked throughout
In wonderment they did this moment spend.
The bride’s smile was but a brilliant beam
When the blue-clothed page-boy opened his hand
And in his palm against pale skin did gleam
The ever-desired golden wedding band.
With careful gestures did the peaceful groom
Bring his stunning new wife to his strong breast
To kiss; and on their faces smiles did bloom
And in matrimony were they both blest
Beneath the vibrant archway in the air:
The marriage of rain and radiance fair

Author notes

Tried to stick to sonnet form with this one. I'm really taken by the phrase 'marriage of rain and radiance' which appeared in a slightly different form in a haiku I wrote (http://allpoetry.com/poem/5558943) which inspired this. I might end up using it again in something, possibly on StoryWrite.
The overall inspiration is the formation of a rainbow.

This is a fantastic sonnet *_*
I love the imagery of this one, it's like a love story between people and to a rainbow as well. Kind of has a magical feel to it~
