She saw the prompt and had to tell you, what washing her hands means to her. She first noticed at the age of 13, that her hands felt dirty, she had been to a fancy dress party, and had worn a feather boa, throughout the day, touching the feather boa had made her hands feel grimey.
So she went off to wash them, and was amazed at how good it felt to have the hot water on them, rubbing the soap into them and rinsing them, she didnt realise how long she'd been in hte ladies, until her friend popped her head around the door and asked her to hurry up.
She carried on the day, she was spending the night at a friends, they were having a sleep-over, But not long after hse had left the ladies, her hands started to feel grimey again, she was bursting all the way to her friends to go and wash them. Finally when they arrived, she made her excuses and hurried to the bathroom.
The water was hot, very hot and was turning her hands red, but she did not care, it felt good, she massaged soap into her palms, scrubbing to make sure they were clean and once again it was a shout from her friend that alerted her to how long she had been.
Its gone on for years now, she is 28, a grown women, But she washes her hands upto 50 times a day, sometimes more, she scrubs so hard that she has sores on htem, and runs them under scalding hot taps till they blister from burns, But its a small sacrifice to keep them clean.
She must admit, she gets some dodgy looks in public toilets, when she washes her hands, rinses them, then washes them again. It makes her really irrate when the water is too cold, she was threw out of the shopping centre last week, for being verbally aggressive with a toilet attendant, and she knew deep down that it wasn't the attendants fault that the water was luke warm, she must remember to write to the council and complain.
Things have gotton more serious lately, what with all these diseases going round, she is so scared that if she goes in a hospital she might get MRSA, or that she may get swine flu from friends, so Now not only does she wash her hands every moment she can, she also carry's a spray bottle of hand sanatiser, everywhere, as well as wearing a pair of thin rubber gloves underneath her normal gloves, so people dont think she is odd.
She knows its a problem now, she cannot hold a pen, becuase her hands are too sore, and plus pens carry way too many germs.
So next time you go to the toilet and come out without washing your hands, spare a thought for the young lady who cannot bear to do that, and would rather die.
