for so long
you'd think
i would have known
how i felt
maybe even how you felt
but things usually don't
work out how they should-
funny how
for us it was the same
shadowed feelings
hidden tension
still resting in deep pools
of uncertainty
at least on my part
the others say that
we make a cute couple
how convenient it is,
you and me
but do they know anything?
do we know anything?
how can anyone understand
love and attraction
even when you see it and feel it
every day?
i guess i am trying to say
that we might not be
the perfect match
but does it matter
when youthful feelings just
erase all common sense?
i think that we should give it a try
and judging from your
eyes
when you look into
mine
quickly glancing away
you feel the same way
