We are so blind
not lucky enough to see
that we often think
that something we wish for
so deeply, so badly
yearning for it,
so much that it hurts
is exactly what we need.
That soft caress
that pulls you in.
Addicting,
like the sweetest of drugs
that keeps pulling you in
so deep
you’re confoundedly blinded
unable to keep a grip,
falling deeper and deeper
until you’re in over your head.
This feeling,
that your drowning
but yet,
you don’t want saved
from this glorious hell
where everything you want
is able to be grasped.
Sweet,
sinuous and sinful
caresses claim the body
making all in the world
seem so right.
But then,
fires die down
smoldering underneath
ready to rise if need
as the calm sweeps in.
Tranquil,
the essence of serenity
creeping in
taking hold
but just as dangerous
as those that lie within
ready to take hold
when the moment strikes.
That sensation
that pulls at you
can’t be ignored
for when we think
that we don’t deserve
what we have received
is often in truth
just exactly
what we need,
what we do deserve.

had an 'argument' with one of my friends, and this was the result of it
hope you enjoyed it
I think this fits your contest, because it is arguing about how the two deserve to have each other... even when one thinks you don't

Wonderful poem. Good work, nice flow. These are the most beautiful lines
Sweet,
sinuous and sinful
caresses claim the body
making all in the world
seem so right.
I liked it a lot. All the best.
