As the kids running down the street.
We used to be the same,
Little kids too big for their feet.
Running along,
Humming some song
We heard on the radio.
The good times went by too fast,
But the days went by slow.
Listening to the summertime radio

This is a really good nostalgic poem. I feel like most people can relate easily to this poem. I know I can. Good write!

I like how it's not "that top 40's station" or "the country favorites hour," just "summertime radio." This is so true. We never just turn on the radio and listen anymore; we listen to playlists of hand-picked mp3s we've already heard a thousand times before. When I was little, I didn't listen to artists or genres; I listened to music.

I know no one does that anymore, thank you for the comment

Love it.
I really miss being a kid. I reject adult life violently

A short, yet soft and lovely piece.
You express the brevity of
summer beautifully.. and
good thing we can hold on
to the memories, because
we can't hold on to time.
Best of luck & thanks for entering

This reminds me of Kid Rock's song... the name of which I can't remember.

It sounded an awful lot like Sweet Home Alabama though.
And it reminds me of Remembering the Good Times, a book which I love.
I love how the poem gives just a peek into the most vivid of childhood memories, letting nostalgia seep in for the reader, remembering the years they had once.
Nice job! ^-^

Yes. This is good. Now I want to hear the song. >.<

This is good with good rhyming but makes me sad because radio sucks now. Now it would be "Listening to the summertime MP3 player"
-
-
lol radio does suck now, pop songs are not as good as they used to be, its all the same and too cliche

It's short and simple, but it really did make me think of running around playing with all my friends during the summer time as a kid. I like a poem that can take me back to happier memories (just as much as one that can creep me out lol)
"We used to be the same
little kids too big for our feet"
I like those lines it painted a really cute picture in my head of a clumsy kid trotting along playing with his friends lol. A very cute, yet thought provoking write!

I like the feeling of this poem a lot. Summertime contains many of the fondest for me, and for many others as well, and this captures that well. The songs on the radio, the "little kids too big for their feet" and other lines each capture another aspect of the summer.

This is such a lovely write, it really captures the essence of the summer I'm having at the moment, really good poem, well done

Keep on writing

- lovely write. -
this is really good; i thought that the innocence presented was very refreshing.

-
Loved the "Little kids too big for their feet" that immediately invoked that awkward feeling of being in a growth spurt. Overall, very cute and nostalgic.
