“I want to be an actress”
“I want to be a fireman”
That’s what my friends used to say
During recess on the monkey bars
Rubbing the golden bark in our hands
They’d always asked what I wanted to be too
That constantly left me lost for words
I’d say something simple
But honestly didn’t know
What the future holds for me
What do I want to be?
That always seemed like a mystery to me
The things I’ve dreamt of doing
Turned into hobbies
But then I learned something
That made the dream chasing worth while
It’s not about the dreams
But the adventure to achieve them
The adventure to explore many things
And to find the dream that’ll make it worth while
What do I want to be?
I don’t know but I’m still exploring
