People tell me I don't know
The symptoms that they've got
Just because when flashes come
I simply think I'm hot.
I must not be hormonal
Since I think it's pretty cool
That I tossed away the tampons
And I'm not a raging fool.
The hubby thinks it's funny
When I break into a sweat
But freedom from the condom
Is nothing he regrets.
Now PMS avoids me
Cramps, insanity and more
And I can take vacations
With no Midol in my store.
I know "he" has some issues
But he really always has
Still my freedom from the monthly
Helps me handle all the jazz.
My temper has grown even
Though I still get achy bones
There grows a satisfaction
In the teachings of The Crone.

lol...freedom from the condom. That is so cool and honest. I love an honest rhythmic flow. I am wondering what the teachings of The Crone is. Don't laugh, I really don't know, lol. I would love to be free from the whole monthly thing. You really have captured the true esscence of the subject.

You wanted constructive so.....probably more of a comment on me than your poem........I didn't understand the first four lines and I think "The Crone" is a bit harsh, just to make a rhyme.
My non-constructive comment is : I like it. Good stuff. Listen to your body and only argue when you're sure.

Life is what it is and it seems that with age not only do we get wiser but in some cases at least even in the smallest of ways the load gets a little lighter.
