Living in Your Madness

I thrive from your brilliant symmetry,

yet, to me, you still remain an enigma.

Perplexed by your ambiguity,

I open hungrily to your negative energy.

Longing to know if I crave your blessings,

or resent your soul's stigma,

like bees to honey, I'm drawn so

intricately inside your calamity.

I cling to your thoughts, your ideas,

to me, so sacrosanct and devine.

Not even nocturnal respites release me

from the talons of your far-flung sanity.

I awake knowing that there's no justice,

for the gods' cruelty has sanctioned us to entwine.

I await your command knowing each fiber

of my spirit exists to feed your vanity.

In the trenches of thinly veiled depression,

my empathy fuses to you like time-frozen mosaic.

Try as I may, I can't thaw the frigidity of icicles

encircling the perimeter of your defunct heart.

Hot arrows of passion singe my senses and

everything that once mattered seems so archaic.

Drained, I am from your arrogance, yet how I thirst

for whatever drippings of humanity you may impart.

Trapped inside the duplicity of your misguided world,

I possess no desire to ever be set free,

Freedom, not being a triumphant I aspire to,

escape is not a goal I ever hope to achieve.

In your madness I willingly linger, for

unreparable flaws are not for these eyes to see.

Simple allusion to the pretext of happiness,

is where I repose and cling to the bits I receive.

Esclipsed by the poison of the ash I breath,

I lust in the loins of your obscurity.

Obsession, a factor that holds no trepidations,

for loving you, I can decipher no end, no limit.

Needing to feel even the illusion of safe,

when in your arms there lies no security.

Encapsulated by mere thoughts of you,

in your complexity, I bathe each and every minute.

I flourish from the mystery your world rains upon me,

residing fearlessly in your stoic and solemn universe.

Constantly chipping away at your concrete emotions,

hoping to break through an unyielding  defense.

In the eye of your mania, in the midst of your storm,

in the torrential rains of madness, forever I am immersed.

Refusing to swim to the shores of any saviors,

it's in you I pledge to reside, seeking no recompense.

    Wow!

As always, my dear friend, your work enchants, mesmerizes, pulls the reader in deeper and deeper into the vortex of the overwhelming emotions and dizzying passions you express so succinctly in these dark, almost forboding pieces. It's just ONE of the reasons your work is loved, and followed by so many on the site; we can ALL relate to the passionate 'push and pull' of the dance that, in one moment leaves us breathless, and the next instant, knocks the wind out of us. It's made far worse when we know we need to distance ourselves, but " just can't." As one reader as already stated so well "...we find ourselves drowing along with them." Isn't THAT the truth! Besides the overall feel, and flow of this piece, your amazing grasp of language, and the way, then, that you USE those words...beyond comprehension. As always, your incredible work touches me deeply, and puts me back in that place where I, too, have lived. Awesome work!

I'm not certain what this is about, but I know that we can be immersed in another person's negative energy. It never seems to have a good effect on us, and even though we know better it is hard to pull away so we find ourselves drowning along with them. Maybe I'm not getting it at all, but that's what it reminds me of. Thank you for entering.
