Innocent maid, dancing in a garden
Never had reason for her heart to harden
No trouble, no fear, no danger, no strife
She lived the illusion of a perfect life
In to the garden a, a gent did ride
Took the young maiden for his bride
To be a grand lady was her fondest wish
He took her for his with a binding kiss
With no fear and no hesitation
She prepared to ascend to her station
They mounted his steed with hands clasped tight
Left the garden, rode into the night
Under a sky with no stars twinkling
Did our maiden get her first inkling
All was not right, all was not well
The path the rode down had glimmers of hell
Bridal dreams lost, the veil was torn down
Her new groom laughed and turned around
Sheltered and cosseted, it did her no good
Death carried her off into the wood

Good title, write and interpretation of the picture prompt. Good flow, rhyme and tone. Nice imagery. Very nice depth of feeling. You capture her innocence and fall very well in this piece. Thank you for your entry.
