Fingertip Affection

At your fingertips, I am held hostage.
At the tip of your tongue, lullabies slide off.
On the palm of your hand, you close me in.
Fingertip affection dancing a salsa down your spine.

Words are spewed out daily like the toxic waste they are.
But only the loved and lovers can speak the truth.
Caught between the age of child and adult,
We dance to our own music in the rain, not minding.

Lying motionless in blissful silence,
I am captivated by the hushed breaths of a sleeping man.
By the whoosh of air through a telephone receiver after three hours.
Nothing in this world feels better.

***

Must we cry these acid tears? Only so we can heal.
Must we damage these fragile arms? Only so we can live.
Must we poison this human shell? Only so we can die.
Must we break this lonely, desperate heart?

Only so we can love.

Well, I cant imagine why anyone would tell you they wrote it just to win, lol... they'd cover it up. But uh, I can say that that's not what mine was about. Did you get some questionable ones?
