tripping over decaying roots
falling in mud reeking of corpses.
Choking on the putrid air, giving up proved to be my only option.
What beauty could this life hold?
Like the rainbow after a shower, that questioned beauty blinded me.
Like the sun; splashing my world with bright color.
It wasn't of nothing but a quickening of my heart
and the shortening of my breathe
To see before me
nothing that before it could make the rain stop.
