Wrinkled sky

Look!
I want to share with you only
this picture, a special time of bliss,
a moment that poets and painters
and lovers dream of,
out of time, out of space.

Isn’t it strange?
There, where we send our kites
and larks sing and fly
the sky looks like a wide blanket of crumpled silk...
can you hear its soft, rustling voice
or is it only my imagination,
behind the double layers do you see
the remains of fading light?

Alone,
I sit next to the window,
night and silence fall upon my face
and I become a piece of the darkness,
only in my chest there is this place
flaring like the morning sun.

I watch and wait and wonder
when will this night without you end
and how long will I have to wait for a falling star
through the interstices of the wrinkled sky
just... to make a wish.

  • Oh, there where we send our kites...... how interesting that I wrote a poem at the ocean and I, as well, speak of something as silk...bravo! Absolutely stupendous writing..gentle, yes, peaceful, contemplative.....

    Just lovely Sonja

You put into words what I have felt at times and it would seem to me that you attained the kind of relationships in love some can only dream about. I am glad to believe that for you certainly are deserving. I truely enjoy reading uplifting poems like this you have written.
