The snow capped heights
call to our souls
and tempt us with
untold delights.
We struggle as if it were so,
we strive and work and try to go.
Alas! Until as last we see
it is not always destiny.
And then we fully understand
a foot’s not meant to be a hand.
So set our sights to our own way
pursue the course that sets us free,
you will be you and I’ll be me.
There are some mountains
we should not climb;
though thoughts of such
fuel dreams sublime.
Finality its mark will make
Upon the path we choose to take.
