I used to believe the universe was infinite and eternal,
Went on forever; but there's the "red shift" hurdle.
Astronomers believe we're in a Big Bang
This produces for my theory a snag.
But --
What if light speed is no constant?
Can be sowed down or stopped.
Now it has been, stopped light existant.
So the Big Bang bubble is popped.
Light is slowed down through the astronomical distance
Through the free hydrogen due to its insistence.
Instead of a Big Bang there are little ones we sense
When we observe a Quasar, so intense.
There is a cycle of galaxies in this universe model.
They start with a bang and their matter spreads out.
They move through shapes that used to befuddle,
But now we know their life cycle route.
We're in the exact center of Nature.
Size-wise, between atoms and galaxies,
This Universe of which we're a partaker
As we perform our ordinary activities.
What has the Universe to do with us?
Why do I make this ridiculous fuss?
Why do I think it's good to discuss
Such things so much?

This is the century of poetic revelation, and true scientific Poetry is on its way.
I have enjoyed the reading of "A New Model of the Universe".

i believe poets are able to unlock the mysteries of science and the universe because they are such deep thinkers, always diving into a subject, all the way to the inner core. i don't know much about "eternity" except that it must be everlasting because nothing else is. lol a very thought-provoking poem. great!

This is an elegant and thought provoking poem. My impression of it is to reflect on how much we have yet to discover.

hehe... science and poetry go together so well. I plan to ask Saber exactly what the truth is; he seems to know everything.

My cats also make me meditate on eternity a great deal, as they do when they stare into nothing, considering the cosmos, and the possible existence of the Great Mouse.
