illusions seem to touch something at our core with a degree of awe pressing our logic to seek rational explanation while enticing our wonder to just soak in the moment. perhaps it is such dueling within which draws us to them.

well done in both verse and art.

Perhaps a combination of that childhhood wonder,
that we are lucky to still retain,
with the adult lure of the impossible,
the dream that we want to become reality.

      Creativity's job--to push the rational!!

"...to just soak in the moment..."
Ah, the pure enjoyment of perceived impossiblity!

Thanks for sharing your insight, Rick.

      Ooops---can't click on the stars----
hmmmm, more new rules put into place?
      Brevity should also be rewarded!!

      Ah, yes---succinct is good,
      easy on the eyes,
      easily fixed in the mind!

The concept first came to mind
      with perspective in mind---
      more to come!!

      Thank you, Alby!

      Ah, Kathy---you captured the idea---
the view, the illusion---to get caught in it
and to let the mind fly!

      Thank you,

Now you tell me, did Pix give such good comments before she met me? She says I've been no influence on her, tell her that's a bunch of bunk! lol

But look at her now, bubbin' about stimuli and perception tests. I feel like a proud papa.

What's an illusion? You mean like the banks needing a bail out and now suddenly posting huge profits.

I think it's like a lot of poetry written by younger writers on AP...they write in a style they hope will convince you is intelligent, creative and poetic when in fact it's___________. I'll let each reader of my comment fill in the blank.

Sorry, just Yem circa 2001 coming through for a moment.

I like the graphics and you don't usually make backgrounds do you. I don't remember any. Cool.

      Hey, I knew her first!
And I remember your first assessment--High falutin'!
Yes, we know you like to take credit for everything!

For this piece the graphics came first---you know how I always
get these ideas---ideas that grow and grow---as in up to part ten,
New pads of paper and pens and ink had just arrrived---but the
idea was in perspective---varied points of view, Idea too large,
so it's coming out in pierces. More in the scanner awating life,
but teetering on whether it makes it to the page.

Backgraounds? Memory joggers, pixie's lavender bday, joy's aqua multi,
the "guys" garden piece with a background of all the earthbox tomato
plants (a few green tiny 100s finally forming), the Jake pieces, those
I put in the H contests which bar the black backgrounds!

Was seeing more tall towers, pencilled in, but going in stages
so inking doesn't stress me out!

Oh sure try to take credit for Pix's smarts, we all know it was me, lol Notice we give her no credit, lol.

Did you create the graphics first? That is interesting because they look like they were made to fit the poem.

Have you done other backgrounds? Well I'm the least observant fellow in the world.

Speaking of taking credit---the conept of the puppeteer came to mind,
reminding me I drew a Guiseppe, have him all ready to knock on the
stage door of the Whodunnit, carrying a case!!! Hmmmm...reincaranted
          Coelho???

Infinity---as to drawing to infinity with aid of perspective,
not able to see it with the human eye, but could create it--
somehow wrapped in the concept flitting in my mind.

You don't remember all those lavender globes on pixie's page???

I just posted part two, but the edges are too busy--will have to play
a bit. It is growing to be about perspective, how we see things,
          in illusion and reality.

Well, the word idea was already forming in my head---but as I always
say, the drawing is harder, so often I will do those first. So, made to
go together, sort of a synchronistic hatching!!!!!

Mmmm..reminds me of those books you see at the bookstore or library..some of them are really confusing and you can't tell what it actually is unless you really look into it....very nice!

Sometimes one just needs to squint!

      Or alter one's perceptiom,
      as in being open minded.

It's intriguing how the mind organizes stimuli. The mind sees what it wants to, maybe what is more pleasing a view like that picture where some see a young beautiful woman and others an old hag. I think I have that in bucket somewhere.

    Love the graphics, Aes.

      You have EVERYTHING in bucket!
Hmmmmm---personality test based on bucket contents!!!

Ah, the world is not what it seems...
or how we may have perceived it to be.

      Thanks, pix,

      Aes

Ah, I am biased---only want to see the young.

Squinted and squited, finally saw the onl gal!

  • Short, sweet and ...

right down that old dark forest lane where the moonlight tends to illuminate what the mind avoids. I should think that if this is under construction that I'll have to return when the project is done! Please inform and I'll reinspect. Your art says you! j y
