As I write
my words grow dull
just a sultry letter of regret,
Filled with sadness
and the tears
all but forgotten,
How could I forget
those steamy nights
cuddled under the sheets,
Dreaming of days to come
and letting go of
all the days of yesteryear,
We had come so far
yet now we
are so far apart,
Where did I go wrong
at what point
did you finally let go,
It was me who was wrong
for I could have tried
just a little bit harder,
Held on
just a little
bit longer,
Yet it is to late
to turn back now
and no words can
hold your tears,
But take my tears
with yours and hold
them both tight,
Try not to forget
that last night.
Please tell me what you think

I like this write.
My favourite part is -
"Where did I go wrong
at what point
did you finally let go,
It was me who was wrong
for I could have tried
just a little bit harder,""
And I LOVE your word Yesteryear !! Where did that come from?? I like it. Well done x -
This definately pulls at the heart strings. I am sorry you lost that love, it does hurt, but it does get better. You will find the one, or another if this one got away. Your poetry is beautiful and i can feel your poem. The poem flowed nicely and i didnt see any grammar or spelling errors either. Great write and great poem.
best of luck for you and your writing!! -
this is so sad
the title and the parts about how you wished you tried harder to make it last
I really like the stanza "We had come so far / yet now we /are so far apart". You put in words something that many of us can relate to, and you have described it so well. In the stanza "Yet it is to late" I think you meant "too late". just a minor spelling error. Great work
