catch colored rays on while they pass,
and stain the rooms in pigments bright,
ranging from wine, lilac, and green,
some housing a metallic sheen.
These hues painted along the white,
and while traveling create a sight.
The colors changing all the while,
as we in motion watch them go,
and in our wondering eyes they glow.
We rest with olive for awhile,
our lips a parting chartreuse smile,
while gold is waiting on the rim.
His time with you, he’s quick to leave,
let’s lie in black some time to grieve.
You dive in deep to take a swim,
sky blue is bouncy, dark is grim.
A mix of orange and red collide,
while ginger spice peppers your face,
and stays for a longing embrace.
As hearts wither colors subside,
and paler hues around them glide.
Like eggshell cream and ivory gray,
till whitewash walls engulf their eyes,
like mindless fools who lives are lies.
While walking though the colored day,
don’t hide the optical display,
of plum and jade twirling around,
for colors play a wondrous view,
and show in life that you are you.

Prompt: Life is like a stained-glass window, full of light and colors
As soon as read the prompt I imagined all these people walking through life with the colors from stained glass windows covering their faces. The colors would show their emotions, both bad and good, everyone with a unique combinations of colors and shapes. They would always change, sometime fast and other times slow. Sadly also imagined some people surrounded by fading or ordinary light, living a life of flat emotions and extreme ordinariness. Perhaps they are conforming to some strict tyrant or cult, or maybe they grew tired of sadness and other 'bad emotions' and so houses no emotions. Who knows. I hope they reinvent their colors.

Wow, this is fabulous. I love what you did with the prompt. It's beautiful, engaging and so true, colors define us in many ways. I have one just called Stained Glass, I did for a contest once, much shorter though. You have a new fan.

This is really amazing. You really created vivid images in my mind with vibrant colours and then toned it down with the subtle ones at the end. It is a very good mix. I aslo liked that you didn't stick to using basic colours and instead used shades to decribe the scene.
All in all the poem is very visual. The rhyming flows very nicely. I am really impressed!
