If I could break
I'd fall, and take
A look at all those sad earthquakes
That freeze me-
Make my spirit shake.
That me tick
And make me ache
That fill me up-
A full mistake.
But words are bouncing off my ears
And run into a blur of years.
Are we here to suppress our fears?
I'm only sure I'm switching gears.
And words I mean
Are bittersweet
Lies drip down,
Like a sugary treat
I won't resist- or be discreet.
I'm telling you
I. Need. To. Cheat.
I'm laughing, but there's something wrong
Something's been there
All along
Inside me-
Growing, getting strong.
Stopping me. I can't belong.
I'm messing up.
I'm losing face.
You're leaving- I'm too proud to chase.
I pulled away to save my skin
And screamed out just to call you in
I want to fall or hurt myself
Be hard to everybody else.
I know you've taken all you'll take
But if I trust you... I could break.

OMG!!
WOW!! you just totally blew me away this is totally amazing. the ending line makes the reader want to scroll back up and re read the whole thing and try to decipher it. this is really great!

the beginning really reminds me of a mixture of the kill and a beautiful lie by 30 seconds to mars. and your rhythm is awesome. i suck at rhyming. over all, i really like this piece. you're really talented. :

Fantastic work
I love the rhyme it just added that special something to the piece. I know what the poem is about because one of my best friends feels exactly the same way, I can really relate. The structure, too is good.
Those extra one lines between stanzas, well I can't really explain! They just added a feeling as if we're getting an extra look into the feelings of the poem. A very well done piece, good job!
