What Kings
©copyright 1990 Bonita M Quesinberry
In the midst of the lions' den find your way
On this earth what kings have we to look upon?
Why, the drug lords, mighty and strong;
and, the porno prince of book, movie and song.
Why, even the pimp of women gone wrong.
Oh, no! you adamantly say;
yet, pass laws to protect them every day.
Such illusory laws meant to make the victim pay.
You fools! Your kings have rusted wisdom
and feet of clay.
You seek the king set upon a coin;
and, in his wrongs you gladly join,
eagerly satisfying the loin
and, blindly, God's temple you purloin.
Oh, Mighty One, King of kings above,
send down wisdom on the wings of
a pure white dove.
Strip away that illusory glove,
and fill their hearts with purest love.
Amen!

Mom, you have a way like no other of spreading the word without sugar coating the truth. Your words honor HIM and teach those of us who are hungry for the truth. AMEN~

Amen indeed ...you are so blessed while stating the words of lights and the words of peace..that is the eternal joy here in your great poetry my friend..well done..

Sadly, very true. It seems we can't get enough of honoring the evil in this world. You do have a way of pointing out what should be obvious. I suppose it'sthe habit people have taken to, of justifying and rationalizing everything. Well written.

Thank you, darling brother! By the way, I got over to Emily's and read one of her pieces: left a lengthy review, both encouraging and critical. . . something about shouldering another's blame, very emotional. She's 18, so in life she has a lot to learn. I did add her to my Favs so I can keep an eye on her writing progress, and I'll let you know if I hear from her.
Much love and hugs, SisBon
