BAREFOOT with a BOTTLE

Barefoot
he dances
bottle in hand
He two~steps his way through the house

Blue jeans chalk dusted
with finger prints
finger tipped
like stained glass
glimmer in sunlight reflected from the window

Barefoot
still dancing
to his own private orchestra
playing inside his head

Dreaming tranquility sighs
happily he smiles
bottle in hand much lighter than when he began

Time to open a new one

Still barefoot
still dancing

Another bottle in hand

Dreaming tranquility sighs
Searching behind his eyes
a partner
to dance with

barefoot.

    Superb

'tis a very fine write, indeed, with marvelous imagery. Reminds me of my own series on the homeless. Thanks for sharing this one with us.

Very nice, can picture the scene and has me ready to pic up my wine and dance some too. I like the way the lines seem to dance themselves.

  • There is a depth ...

to this poem that caught my eye and so therefore caught my attention. It is most interesting and I enjoyed it ... Nice work. joy

Ah, the Dance of the Day ...

in the Chasing! I am so glad Ian inspired this poem, for it is beautifully crafted, somewhat bittersweet ... Loved it.

    Thank you, Laura.

    Love

  • Oh sis! This is fantastic! So light and jovial. Somebody tipped back a couple, eh? LOL.

      You are ever inspiring, Ian!

And I see you dancing, if not in words or person, then in soul. May you drink from eternal bottle, that holds the elixir of the ever-youthful bard!

      Love to you, too, Friend.
