What does the saying, "set in stone" mean to you? It meant nothing to me until a few months ago. Just a saying. Nothing more, nothing less. I personally had never used it, although it had past from my mother's lips from time to time.
But now, having a moment to think it over, its so final sounding. I never quite imagined the magnitude of that saying until I saw the little headstone that was made in honor my son. How his name was craved in it, beloved son, life cut too short. Underneath just one day, the day of birth is the same day as death. Yet I still morn for him. We shared a body and I feel like I failed because I couldn't keep him breathing.
