I walk this earth my heart in hand,
my spirit aches by man’s harsh hand
This land of ours that so deserves
cannot find one whose mind preserves
Who has the will or Powers thrust
to take on Nations single lust
to cancel out what has been done
Minds torment hurt by twisted pun
For what is here is cancelled quick
each moment sees another’s tic
toc as though they never lived
Another species dead through sieve
of commerce who will grab and take
Whilst I concerned, will call it rape
For every moment is at stake
Lets all act now… for goodness sake
This green and verdant land is sick
The spirits challenge every trick
and man who seeks to make a buck
at Earths expense will try his luck
Another leaf has died today
It matters not I hear you say
Tomorrow is another day
Whilst Spirits of the earth do pray
I visited the Southern pole
Above the ice another Hole
Whilst Ozone’s place upon this earth
Discussed to death…. Whilst I write verse
United every single mind
Can change tomorrow…we can find
A way of saving planets worst
All life that’s in this universe
We’re not alone we are observed
And what we do… should be preserved
So others can witness what we did
Or failed to do… Take off the lid
Expose what man has done this day
Another wood removed… but hey!
A book was printed… ain’t that good
A useful use of all this wood?
But habitat takes time and space
And can’t respond to human race
Once oaken log by man is felled
And vision destroyed though they held
Within the roots of ancient tree
Countless tales of history
Whilst journeymen looked on in fear
They’d weep for man and shed a tear
Aragorn of middle earth
Understood because of birth
And fought to combat evils hold
And we the bravest of the bold
Need to do the same right now
No other chance… although somehow
We hope that others will complain
And challenge power So Insane

Powerful write. We all need to take responsibility to make the world the best place it could be (and do what we can to understand what is going on so we can make the right decisions.)
I really liked:
"Another leaf has died today
It matters not I hear you say"
The imagery of the leaf falling off a tree and falling down helped drive the poem home for me.
