Dear Mom,
I realized when you used to
disappear into the garage
with daddy,
you were going there to fight.
You were going there to shelter
us kids from that terrible sight.
Echoed shouts flowed in through
the crack under the door,
and immediately I concluded that
happiness would be no more.
Fights would occur on a daily basis
and eventually it became too much,
when one day you and daddy announced
divorce was a definite must.
Six years and four moves later
I'm very angry at you and daddy
for giving up on each other
and not listening to my desperate pleas.
All I want is a normal life,
and two parents who love each other
what example are you setting
for me and my older brother?
Sincerely,
Your Daughter
Author notes
My prompt was to write to my mom/dad and vent about my feelings on the divorce.
What do you think?

Wow
See I knew there was something that was left for you to say. I think you have done a wonderful job from the heart. Exactly what was looking for. I love it and I hope it helped you because that was my aim. Writing helps me when I'm angry I thought it could help you too.
