The big question is, will we work
Are there just to many differences and too much space between us
I want to grow old, live life with one and only one
You want to stay young and explore what you don’t know

I can be naive and think soul mates exist and
You don’t see why love can’t be open for others
My body is a sanctuary, and my doors aren’t open to those who pass or
People I fancy at the time
You think I’ll be letting myself miss opportunities for exploration

I consider committing to having sex with one person my entire life
And you find the thought or tradition a bit ridiculous
A relationship based on everything but sex can be stable
Adding physical relations is just an addition and not a missing piece

I want to be pure, in the act of being untouched and significantly special
I am not downing or judging others that do not
I just don’t see sex as a priority in compatibility
Love increases the passion held by both to make sex incredible

You could say my religion plays a role but it’s not the only reason
I don’t see my body as something to be captured
But enjoyed by me, and my lover as I will to his
I don’t see why the emphasis these days is on premature passions

You say loving and caring put out will be returned by the worthy
That there are no requirements to being loved
I believe you, but I don’t want the love of many I want the heart of one
So I can wait and have no trouble doing so

You have a thousand opposite opinions
Ideas that I can’t even begin to understand or consider
Our lives seem to be parallel, never able to intersect
We are so different and at such a distance and I hate to ask but
Do we work, will we?
