The sycamore leaves
fall crisp and sweet
Clashing beautifully with
the wine-stained horizon
Surrounded by burnt
ashes and embers, they stuck
to me like a disease
and hugged me like an antique dress
We lay like dogs, calm and still
On the sepia-coloured ground
Our life was like an old photograph
Faded, but not forgotten

What vivid expressions your words have painted upon your canvas. I can't tell if you are actually a writer, or an artist, but it seems you have both sewed up tight. This is just beautiful.

Stunning
This is an absolutely beautiful write. I am sure you are getting tired of hearing this, but once again, your use of imagery is simply amazing. You paint such vivid pictures with your words, allowing the reader to see the scene played out before them. I think this is one of your longest poems I have read thus far but it is no less amazing. You are a truly talented writer. I think you did a wonderful job with the prompt here.
Faded, but not forgotten
An awesome way to end this one. Leaves the reader with a smile and more than likely, thoughts of past loves in there lives that have never been forgotten. Your poetry always leaves me with many thoughts and feelings as great poetry does and this is no exception. Great job here. Keep writing so I always have somethinf amazing to read. Best of luck in the contest. This piece is definitely a contender in my eyes.

Mind Blowing Wowness!!
Oh my gosh Rachel I really don't think I could sum up a comment worthy of this write but imma state my opinion any ways! This is by far the most powerful write from you I have read thus far. arguably the one I love before this write from you is my fav but this clealry takes the top spot for your best poem ever that I have read. I really admire love and find true beauty to your words and really enjoy the feel to the poem as well. any ways just absolutely a picture perfect beautifully penned write and this is by far a gemstone of a poem. if this doesn't take any trophy I will be in shock. keep up the incredible writing my sweet friend and best of luck to you in the contest.
