untitled # 3

Windswept cigarette smoke dulled morning
winter sky; already dull.

Knifing through my hair;
the morning crowds:
already parted.

Once we sat under the ancient oak,
leaves all torn away;
under it's naked splendour
all that remains, to die:
rooted.
