sometimes, I run with giants.

far beyond
an eyelash secret in space:
a supernova in progress --
waiting with carnal intentions, more
nocturnal than insomniac, and humming
strains of classical music in background
                        radiation. redgiants and bluegiants
and oversize stars; it's all nonsense you
always understood before I could fully

grasp the concept of time travel.

these giants are more than starshowers,
more than the fireworks and sunshine
they promise. these giants are inhibited,
and they are worth no more than a poet's
emotionally ignorant phrases.

jumping off a bridge wasn't nearly
as debilitating a prospect, but lightyears
will pass before anyone notices the
lightwindmills soaring high above our heads.

Ah, yes. This is one I'd read earlier, actually, when I had to go offline. I especially like your final stanza, Poet. Congratulations on your silver trophy.

this is amazing, and so different from anything else I've ever read. I love the imagery and your take on both prompts.

this is amazing. from the very beginning all the way to the end.

"more nocturnal than insomniac" --> i love how easily you separated those two ideas.
the stanza in italics was beautiful, too.

and the ending was absolutely stunning. i loved this whole poem.
