To You.

Lay in your hospital bed
And listen
As the walls breathe.
Steady the pace
Of your racing heart
To match your surroundings
And take comfort in
The sweet silence
That used to be Chaos.
The pain is so familiar
That you welcome it.
Almost.

Watch now as your screams
Shatter on the linoleum floor
And break into a million crystal shards
like so many pieces of your life's puzzle.
I want to put you back
Together again
But I am only your reflection

So, instead,
I'll take your stories and fold them
Within the deepest chamber of my heart.
You can try
to retell them, but
I know they'll come back different.
Like you did
After Your War.

At least the stories talk.

Author notes

Yeah... this is sort of a rambling, ranting poem... with really no focus.

Just some thoughts, I guess. This is a way to vent.

Interesting write indeed. I suppose at times it takes a friend or a loved one to speak the truth so often denied. well pennned young poet.

    • I guess so.

Though.. We've all been trying to warn Aiden of the dangers of his addiction. He doesnt listen. Yes, he's stop taking so many pills so often.. but he hasnt stopped entirely.. which is what he really needs to do to save himself.
