Don't Believe Him!

Dear Lizzie,

February 1992.

Sweetheart listen and heed these words

Your life is about to turn sour,

Stay away from Jim, don't listen to him

He'll strike within an hour,

He's a very sick man, abusive and twisted

Out for what he can get,

Don't go to that house, he's a vile little louse

If you go you'll get caught in his net.

Your family all hate him and not without reason

It's your brother who hates him the most,

He'll take over your mind and be very unkind

You'll be brainwashed and look like a ghost,

Your family will disown you,

He'll threaten to kill them all

You then lose your job and do nothing but sob,

And be forever at his beck and call,

Your life could be so much better

An intelligent girl like you are,

Don't fall for his patter his words are sick chatter

Heed this and you will go far!

Author notes

I wish It were possible to go back and warn yourself of something because I would of avoided a lot of abuse and despair at that particular time. Not a good memory for me at all.

I wish it were possible too - then I could have avoided a similar experience to you; sometimes life deals us unfair hands and we don't know what to do but go with the flow.

this letter shows a dark patch of your life that no one should have to endure but it also shows strength as you are here today to write this in hopes of warning yourself. the memory is not good, not at all - but the strength you gained from it ... that is good.

    Best of Luck

    Stay safe
