The Soul Never Dies

Re~gaining my stregnth
Re~organizing my brain
The pit of my stoamch still
aches
My heart
still
breaks
with each passing thought
of what once
was
The past
creeps up on me like
a
dis~embodied
shadow of an old
friend
A friend
I can't
let go
of
Words of hope
spoken
to ease
the pain
Never uttered in vain
Yet still release
even ever so subtle
hurts to let go
even though
I know
The spirit never
Dies

Please tell me what you think

I can relate to it so easily. Spirit never dies, it's true and in a way person attains 'Moksha' or "nirvana" -True as per me is, death kill's a part of the person who is left alone.

And - thnaks a lot for your comments on my work.

We never forget those we love, do we. No matter how long they've been gone from this earth.

Oh Lurie! This is about Patrick isn't it! I can sense it in your words! OMG! *CRIES* (I just read that last comment you left... and it IS about him!)
I miss him SOOOOO much too! I still stop by his page from time to time to read his poems and even leave a note in his guestbook, it's my little way of dealing with our loss... I like to think that he still gets the messages while he sits in that Cyber Cafe in the Sky hamming it up with the greatest poets who ever lived! Oh sis, you really did make me cry with this! As much as he meant to me, I know he was so much more to you and I can only imagine how much you still ache with the pain of his loss. He was an amazing poet and the most loving friend anyone could ask for. Even though this is so sad it's a beautiful tribute to the memory of a wonderful man. Oh... now I've blathered on and on...

I like this, I see the refinement of the expression of a constant. It is one of my favorite subjects.
