My smile

Here I go, get ready, here I smile.
Make people think living is worth while.
I’m going to go and write a poem about life.
And about how bad I want to be free with the person I love.
People tell me things that I don't want to hear.
I want to experience the world with him.
My friends say things and so do my parents.
To punish me, they don't let me see him.
My life is normal and perfectly fine.
Look at me and see my happiness shine.
Friends...here is my story
I can make you smile even if I can’t.
Message me and I will listen to you.
I honestly don’t mind listening to people complain.
And if you’re bored then I can certainly entertain.
But sometimes I just want people to listen to me.
Just that simple act will make me quite happy.
I want people to listen to my cries
Because all of my happiness is just a disguise.
You asked how are you and I answered I’m okay.
But that answer is getting rather cliche.
I’ll listen to your problems and help when I can
And I’ll listen to you tell me that you’re my biggest fan.
Is there anyone out there who will listen to me?
There has to be someone who can hear my plea.
If I say that life sucks will you open your ears?
Will you listen if I tell you all my deepest fears?
Will you talk to me for hours and most of the day?
If I ask you not to go, will you actually stay?
If I ask to be friends, will you hold out your hand?
If I fall on my face, will you help me to stand?
So, my friends, please keep this in mind.
All I want is someone to be kind.
I want you to understand that life isn't so black and white.
I want people to understand that no one is easy to understand.
Will you help me figure my problems out and not boss me around about my decisions.
